I own a peavey vypyr 60 watt tube amplifier, and these are the tubes that come with it. They do the job, give clean tones, and LOTS OF POWER!!!

These tubes came in my Valveking head(i got it new), and i havent even had that amp 6 months yet and one of these tubes burned out. The amp doesnt even get super heavy use, ive played 6 shows with is, so youd think the tubes would still have alot of life in them, but no. So now i have an unusable amp less than a week before a show and no money to buy a replacement set of tubes.

Matched tubes not matched. there is a 13ma difference in the plate current on what should have been a matched set. Other than that they are high quality tubes But in a push-pull amp mine are unusable. And yes I know how to bias an amp the tubes were swapped for JJ's and they are matched perfectly.

I just past the 2 year mark with a pair of these 6L6s. They have been great. The sound was smooth, consistent and warm on both the clean and driven channels of my Traynor 50 Blue. I really liked the unique distortion from them, but it did get a little messy sounding if I put more than 2 notes in a chord (not your typical use for distortion I know, but some EL34s distinguished the tones much clearer). However, my 6L6s have begun their death rattle and its time to pick up some new bulbs. I'll be hard pressed to choose any other tubes though, as these have been awesome.

Stock tubes in my Valve King Head

Purchased matched quad for Peavey Valve King Head and also got the Ruby 12AX7 83S. When I cracked the cover for the valve king, lo and behold, these were the stock power tubes. The preamp tubes had an odd mixture of EH, sovtek and something else, when all the tubes became Ruby, why the sound went from okay to awesum. Good for everything from the cleanest twangyest country, to some B.B. to Cream, to Ozzy, Korn and beyond. For warm, pure tube power, this is the 'it' tube.
