Where's the back

I bought this to house a G-K 700RB and a Furman Power conditioner. After taking the measurements I brought it home only to find that due to the cheesy plastic rear panel cover, the speak-ons wouldn't fit depth-wise into the back of the GK. I replaced this with a Gator and everything is good. Joe

This is a great little shallow rack unit. Convenitent for the shallow depth rack items such as Korg Rack tuner, etc. I agree though with the other reviews - if only SKB would have made this unit so the back panel was identical to the front I would have rated it 100% - this should be a fairly easy thing that SKB could do starting on their next production run. Let's hope that they read these reviews to better their product line.

Perfect rack for me, I have (top to bottem) a Monster Power 2500, 2 FirePods, and a Behringer Headphone amp. The back panel was the major shortcoming as most have already mentioned. Having the power conditioner at the top made all the outlets unusable. By removing the top portion of what lies under the back panel, I now have full access to all the outlets and it still closes perfectly. All in all a good product, but SKB could do with a little revision. Or you could just mod it yourself :-)

So much shopping for a rack case, and always finding the ones that are too freakin' deep--I am relieved to find these! First of all, ignore the review two below this; why that guy didn't research it before he bought it is no fault of SKB's. The one below this is dead on about the back, though. The back should be identical to the front, cuz the boxing-in is a little too much. My power amp is 10 inches deep and can't go in the bottom simply because of the power cord sticking out an additional couple inches. But that's the ONLY inconvenience; guitarists with racks, here's the case that was finally made for us!

This is a top notch unit and I like the shallow depth but the back sucks! Why didn't they just make the back like the front to give us full access? Every time I've loaded this rack I have to spend a half hour juggling things around so I can get everything connected in the back. For example, if you have a rack mounted power distribution center (Furman, etc.), its only 6" deep but you have to mount it in the middle area because wall wart power supplies are so big. Also, its hard to see back there. If they just made it with a regular back it would be aces.
