I used a Golf Guard to carry cymbal stands, hi-hat stand, snare stand, seat tripod, and multi clamps and tilters. Although that was great and worked well for 5 years the Golf Guard broke and I bought one of these. This thing is much bigger and holds more stands and also has room for my seat top and my drum cover. This so far is worth it. I am very hard on gear as I play 2-3 times a week. Probably too expensive but it is built better than most and will last for a long time.

This case is really good. I have used it lots of times and it hasn't got a scratch on it, yes it's that durable. However, this case is very expensive, but it does the job. It could do with some straps on the inside to keep everything from moving about, I have stopped everything from getting damaged by putting towels around the stands inside. It also getts very heavy when it is loaded up, so you may need two people to help you at a gig, unless you are very strong. If you are thinking about getting the smaller case, don't. That one will not fit most of your stands whole. For example, in the larger case you can keep your hi-hat stand inatct, while in the smaller case you would have to take it apart. So, get this case!

The SKB-H4816W has 3 straps on the inside, inline skate wheels, pretty good sized pair of handles, a gasket on the alum channel, and a LOT of room on the inside. I'm going from a Humes and Berg Large HW Bag, to this, and I can tell before even loading it with goodies, I'll like this more (mainly, because it's rigid!)

Considering how much one has to shell out for one of these, I expected better. Haven't even owned it for a year, it's probably been used around 20-25 times, two of the four rubber feet have broken off the bottom from incidental contact and one of the inside straps has frayed to the point that I've had to repair it to use it. Sure it's got a lifetime warranty, but am I supposed to ship it somewhere to have them replace/fix the feet (they broke - not fell - off) and the strap? It's one thing to manufacture durable plastic, it's another to incorporate it into an all-around sturdy design. Just not the quality product I thought I was getting. Look around before settling on this one, I have a feeling there's better for less.

I've owned 2 of these for about 5 years now. I use them to store and transport my DJ light show. I have 8 lights mounted to a cross-pole in each along with some pillows for cushioning. None of my lights have ever broken and the cases are very easy to manuever with the built-in handles and wheels. I even use them for transporting my golf clubs when I'm lucky enough to get away for a vacation. Can't imagine anything better. Should last a lifetime.
