I put this on my snare, stuff my bass drum with quilts, put dampners on my toms and cymbals, and get after it. Haven't had one neighbor throw bottles at my house yet. This pad on your snare sounds great. It retains the sound of your snare but WAY quiter. I am playing a Yamaha Paul Leim Signature snare and let me tell you IT IS LOUD! This pad tames it nicely. Smart sucker came up with this.

I've been teaching drums for 2 years in Los Angeles, and I have to say that this pad is perfect for instruction. You can hear each others voices, you don't have to crank you click to over power the snare. The ideal pad, Buy iT!

Yes the pad does move around on drum surfaces. There are springs to hold the pad in place that attach to the drums rim the pad is placed over and the pad's rim.

Excellent Practice Pad

This is an excellent practice pad for every one. The coated surface is great when playing brushes, and the projection of sound is just great. When playing with sticks, it is just a bit loud because of the coated surface, but it is still a perfect pad.

When it is played on a drum, it is also a bit loud.

Because it has a rim, it is a great tool for practising rim shots, rim knocks, and other things that utilise the rim like a one handed roll. The pad doesn't move around when playing on a tabletop or a drum, which is very good.

The pricing is very reasonable, and the money you put into it is worth it.

Overall, the Sabian Quiet Tone Snare Drum Practice Pad is an excellent tool for all around practice, whether you're a brush player, or a stick player, and the features are excellent.

Great, but not a snare

Wow. This thing is great. I use it on tabletop mostly and the only thing is that the rebound is so-so. Definitely NOT a real feel, but if you want to get a feel for size, style, room, etc., of a marching snare (first buy the 14 inch) then go for it. The head gets loose sometimes but a quick drum key will fix it.

I've had mine for bout 2 months, and there's barely a scratch on it. I play in a high school drumline and practice for about an hour a day. I don't dilly-dally on the thing, though, i bang the crap out of it, and still the head's in GREAT condition (made by aquarian). BUY THIS PAD!
