I bought some of these from my local music store today when the guy at the store recommended these. He said you know when Iron Maiden spins there guitars around, I give him a blank stare and say yes. So I end up buying these, head home and put them on my guitar. I have a jay turser les paul style. The screws were smaller then the original so I had to put new screw holes in. Its not a big deal because you cant even see the old holes, but If you had a super nice guitar you might wanna consider glue or something to bridge the gap if the hole is to big. Other than that I love them. They hold in place great and I feel very safe with them. When I do need to remove my strap its also easy. Ill put these on every guitar I ever own get some now. Ill let you know how guitar swings go haha.

I have either Dunlaps or these on every guitar I own other than acoustic they are simply the best cheap insurance policy you can buy to prevent you guitar from biting the floor especially Les Pauls. According to some the way the factory shoot paint on the LP is they use a slightly longer screw hanger on the base of the guitar so the stock screws that come with either Dunlaps or these will not work or will need either a longer screw, a dab of glue or a small sliver of wood like a toothpick with glue in the hole to make up the difference in size. Just don't assume you have everything you need when you get the package open just be prepared and you will have no problems.

Do not buy these. They will come loose and fail. My 77 P-Bass bears not one, but two scars from this poorly designed product. I bought these to protect my bass, not make it more likely to eat the floor. They will lull you into a false sense of security and bam!!!!!!!.......your day is ruined

I Am not sure why anyone has had any trouble with these.I own 8 bass guitars and I have these locks on all of them.I can only guess that they don't tighten them up enough.I play hard rock and I abuse my basees.They have never failed me.I have been buying these strap locks for 18 years now!!!

I have all three finishes on my rigs. My Strat, Tele, P-Bass, Les Paul, Epi, Jackson, Gretsch, Ibanez, Washburn, Martin, Takamine, you get the picture.

I have never had a failure with Schaller Strap Locks but then I do preventive maintenance on all my equipment and that includes checking for loose nuts & bolts.

The Nickel, Gold and Black models have performed flawlessly but, the coating tends to come off the Black ones where they make contact which is not an issue for me.

I am sure that other brands work just as well but I have no reason to change. I like being able to grab any strap I have and put it on any one of my guitars.....or my Banjo.....or my mandolin!
