I just bought a gibson sg faded. It is a great great great guitar but was just somewhat missing that clear "in your face" tone when i went to playing single notes around middle of the fret board. So i got these and coil tapped them for more tone options. MY MY MY I have found my pickups. I played this guitar next to an 70s model sg with upgraded pickups and a bigsby. he has 1600 in his and i have 525 in mine and mine was a little hotter but other than that couldn't tell a differance. if you don't know what to get.... try these. You will love it...

my guitar stock pickups weren't really settling with me, i was trying to find some new pickups but i didn't want anything too heavy but light enough so i can play some clean stuff. i was planning to get EMG actives 81/60 set on my guitar but after some research i went against it. i got nothing against actives i love the sound just a lot of work and money to put into it to set it up. anyways these pickups are amazing. i'm running my guitar on a Randall amp and it sounds awesome really tight lows and the mids are perfect i keep my mid knob at 12 o' clock too. these pickups are like dave mustaine's live wire pickups (close to them anyways in my opinion). these pickups are worth it very well rounded. on a clean channel i get an acoustic like sound especially in the neck pickup. i'm very happy with these pickups. worth the buy. its expensive because you're buying both the bridge and neck not one or the other.

Really Hot!

These pickups are dirty even with clean amps. They are really powerful. With an overdrive pedal turned up to 8-9 they turn into fuzz, but somehow still remain clean. They only need a touch of effects. They really boost whatever is infront of them. When shredding, every note has presence and the sound is as smooth as actives. It is a total mystery to me how a pickup can do the hardest metal, then lay a blues tone as smooth as warm butter. Even when playing clean they sound amazing. These pickups are aimed at high gain players, but they are the best well rounded pickup Ive ever played. They make your rig sound bigger. With a touch of OD you get ACDC. If you crank it up to 4 you will get BLS. With nothing you get BB King. These pickups are Heaven sent. I usually play ryhthm on bridge and solos on the neck, but both the neck and the bridge are a joy to play for everything.

I bought this set for my SG Custom over a year ago.
Adding this set to my guitar changed its sound dramatically. I went from undefined and muddy to simply brilliant. I kept a '57 plus and moved it to the neck position, and put these in the mid(n) and bridge(b). Added Push Pull pots to tap them.
It is the best sound imagineable for the SG. I could swear every bit of force needed to play the hardest rock is right here. The awesome thing also is how well they clean up. Switch from distorted to clean and listen to the clarity and brilliance.
You won't get this clean out of a Dimarzio SD. Trust me.
Great for Drop Tunings too.

I purchased these pickups to put in my Jackson Dinky Js30. They are simply beasts, they have such a good tone I run them through my Randall Halfstack. I have played in a talent show at school but not in a concert yet. I must say if ur a Metal playing musician and want to brighten up the sound these are the pickups you want.
