I installed this pickup in my rg7421, and wow! This pup has tone. it has a slightly scooped eq, nice tight bass. not as much out put as the invader, but close. but much better eq and clearness of notes. you can get a nice fear factory or mehsuggah sound, but also it does very well on clean. crystal clear.unlike the invader witch is over driven sounding on clean ch.

I've used the 6-string version on many guitars over the years, and the 7-string version has all the same tonal aspects I've come to love about this pickup. I play metal mostly, and I find that the Duncan custom has always had the perfect balance of chunky rhythms & smooth leads. I've never met a Duncan pickup I didn't love. When I went looking for a new bridge pickup for my RG7321, I thought long and hard about whether to go with DiMarzio or Duncan. When I saw they had a 7-string version of the custom, I went for it. I wasn't dissappointed in the least!! It picks up the low B string perfectly, and those low power chords sound ultra-chunky now!! I love this thing!!
