These things are hot and sound great. I have them in a Dean 7 string going through a Mesa Triple Rectifier, and they beat the hell out of the EMG actives in my Gibson/Epiphone Les Paul 7 string.

Monster metal sound!

The Seymour Duncan Distortion pickups are the best in the business for metal. The 7 string Distortions are fantastic! They keep the bottom end tight and punchy, with crisp, scortching highs, and well rounded mids too. I've tried several different brands, from active to passive, and these are by far the best pickup. They fire out the harmonics just as well as an active pickup, and better than any passive, but they still beat active pickup prices and tone. I've used these pickups in studio, on stage, and in recordings, and everytime they continue to thrill and impress. I now run Duncan Distortions in ALL my guitars, my 6 strings and my 7 strings.
