There is a reason this pickup is so popular. It is versatile enough to do just about any style and it does them all very well. The fact that it comes in a 7 string version is awesome since I play 7's exclusively. The tone is clear and brilliant with a flat EQed amp and the bottom is huge yet tight. It feels and sounds very professional in my opinion or, in other words, it won't help you cover up sloppy technique but if you really know how to play it will make good chops sound like a million bucks. Through a clean amp the pickup is smooth, with great body and chime to the high end. Moderate to high gain overdrive; the pickups are articulate, with great sustain and lows that rival any other pickup I've ever heard. They are not noisy either until you crank the gain to obscene levels, which I don't ever do. This pickup sounds pretty good when split too.

Bridge position of an Ibanez RG7621 (strings through body, bolt-on, Ernie Ball 10's). Deep and heavy, with clear articulation of each note, even with much distortion. Fat, singing, clear highs with lots of sustain. Warm, crunchy midrange. Great string-to-string balance. Wouldn't change a thing.
