Black/Creme

The Seymour Duncan SH-2N Jazz Model Pickup is suitable for musicians who need an accurate, clear tone for fast jazz runs. The brighter sound has slightly less output and is a good match with most pickups. A popular combination is The Jazz Model in the neck with either a JB (SH-4) or Duncan Custom (SH-5) in the bridge.

Achieve the tone and clarity you seek. Order today and save.

Perfect Neck Pickup for a Les Paul-Rock/Blues/Jazz

If you want a neck pickup that can play sweet blues, clear, full, not muddy, articulate, warm, again, not muddy, this is your pickup. I have searched for years. This is it. My Classic 57 and my 490R both pale in comparison. They sound weak or muddy or both. This pickup is very usable for the middle position as well. I have a 498t in the brigde and they play very well together. You can definetely get some nice clear full shredding out of this neck pickup too. I am so happy. I will never buy another neck pickup. You won't be disappointed. Wow

Best Neck Pickup Ever

The SD Jazz is the best neck pickup that I have ever played. Everyone else is blown away by this pickup also. I dropped one in my Gibson LP and liked it so much I put one in the Epi Sheraton II also. Turn the tone pot back a few notches to smooth out the highs. With the tone dialed back half way and you get a very brown yet articulate and pure tone. For 20's style jazz tone and to sound like Joe Pass or Django,I turn the tone pot all the way off and get a very smooth, but clear sound. This pickup does it all. Don't be put off by the word "Jazz"...this pickup does metal and anything else you need it to do. Excellent!

Beautiful Pickup

I have a Jackson RR with this pickup in the neck position. I play MOSTLY metal stuff.. Anything from melodic metal to just balls to the walls. Even when I'm not playing metal I generally like an overdriven powerful sound, so when I got this guitar and saw "jazz" pickup I was like, that's getting replaced for sure. WRONG. I was absolutely blown away by this pickup. Even though I'm a metal head I really love just turning on the clean channel and playing around with this pickup... In a tube amp with some overdrive it still is beautiful and just has an absolutely fantastic tone. It's just so clear and punchy. Not muddy at all. This pickup could really be used for anything clean or leads where you need a tone that is just very pure sounding and it would work great. I don't know how really to describe it other than to say this pickup really just sings, it's crystal clear, and is an overall wonderful pickup that I would recommend to anyone.

Still the best neck pickup

Plenty of mids (especially in a mahogany body guitar), the cover makes it a tad more mild, but otherwise exceptional clarity and a beautiful clean tone. Sounds great with effects and great through tube amps. I have never heard a better neck pickup, not even in my friend's Les Paul Classic. I'd buy another in a heartbeat, and now I won't buy a guitar unless this is the neck pickup (if it's a humbucker-equipped guitar). The bass can get muddy if you boost the bass, so make sure you use some EQ. Still, this pickup has the best jazz tone I've ever heard. Could not ask for anything better because I've never experienced or heard any better neck pickup.

This is a jazz pickup, - I care not how it mixes with the bridge pickup (whats a bridge pickup?), or how hot it is. This is a great jazz pickup for the money; I wouldn't spend anymore on a pickup unless you had the money to blow on a handwired boutique. This does have more clarity and less mud than some other jazz pickups I've played on. It darkens up well. Great choice.
