I put this humbucker in the bridge position with a JB in the neck in my ESP EC-256. I coil tapped them both and OMG! they are so awesome. The suggestion was made to me by a guy who does guitar repairs at a local shop I go to, and wow was he right. Simply amazing. Its a great pick-up.

Great humbucker! The SH-6 has great tone, much better than the SD Blackouts I have in my other guitar. They arent quite as "heavy" as the Blackouts but they can definatly handle any kind of metal, heavy metal, metalcore, nu-metal or anything like that if you have a good high gain amp. The distorted sound also seems a lot fuller than active humbuckers. The cleans are great as well. I highly recommend this pickup!

seymour duncan sh-6

i just had this amazing pickup installed in the bridge posotion of my 2002 gibson ls paul studio and right out of the gate i noticed a huge difference. Don't get me wrong, the 498 gibson pickup is very good, but the seymour is awesome. The sustain of my guitar doubled as well as the ability to squeal, and get really good pinch harmonics. the only reason i gave it a 41/2 on the features was because it didn't come with a cover, but whatever i'm proud to show off that seymour logo! Anybody out there looking to upgrade to EMG actives or Dimarzios I highly recommend checking out the Duncan distortion first. It's a really good value for a really good pickup. Add an ALNICO PRO II in the neck position and the tones will be unlimited. Thank you so much Mr. Duncan and all your fine workers in Santa Barbara and thank you Musicians Friend for bringing us the equipment we need to do what we do!

recently, my Dean Zx went under a lil project... new bridge, new tuners, new pots, new switches, blah blah blah, so of course i needed new pick-ups. So i decided to give the seymour duncans a try, since my other choice was EMG's (and alredy have a guitar with EMGs). I ordered the distortion mayhenm set (SH-6N &B). MAN, that guitar is my new GOD now, she screams real good, God Bless Seymour Duncan :)

Duncan Distortion pickup

I ordered this pickup and had it installed in the bridge position of my 2004 Jackson ke-3 kelly. This pickup sounds great on clean, overdrive, and full blown distortion. The tones remind me of 80's hard rock and metal, not to metion that it is great for clean chords too. I use a crate gt 212 amp and zakk wylde overdrive with this guitar and you can really get similar tones that Randy Rhoads had and some modern too. Harmonics and sustain on this pickup are great too. And it is not noisy at all even with a whole of volume. All and all, if you are looking for a great sounding pickup with lots of classic and modern tones, this pickup is for you.
