The Seymour Duncan SHR-1 Hot Rail Stacked Single Coil Pickup is one of the highest output pickups made. It's a humbucker that fits into a normal single-coil pickup slot, so you get noise canceling without cutting a large hole in your guitar. The 2 thin blades with powerful coil windings give you the incredible sustain and fat, full sound that's needed for playing heavier rock music. This Seymour Duncan SHR-1 pickup responds to the subtlest finger movements.

So you read all these reviews and wonder what this hot rail thing all about? I've been a humbucker guitar player for the last 20 years. But a recent purchase of an American fender strat single coil guitar put me on the path of finding the huge sound I once had with my other guitars. I really considered replacing my pickguard with a humbucker setup that I know and love but a trip to my local guitar shop changed that thought. He suggested the Seymour Duncan hot rail SHR-1. Let me tell you... huge sound in a small package. The pickup is very hot, very open, and very cool sounding. It stands up extremely well (almost better) than my other humbucker guitars. I am very impressed with this pickup. Don't hesitate to think you won't get your sound from this one...

I tried a SH-6 in my strat, but it just didn't have the tone that I wanted. The Hot-Rail is a rocking pickup with great tone.

MY favorite pickup ever. I don't even think there's a contest among great lead/bridge pickups. For all those HSS players out there, I'm sorry you're truly missing out on this sweet stacked single coil.

This thing has all the rage of a Dimebucker from the comparisons I've heard. Now I've never heard a Dimebucker in person, but I know intensity, Dimebags harmonics and tone and I can tell you that this thing covers all bases.

Even for being so powerful, it doesn't muddy up your crunch tones or your high gain tones (as hard as you may push the boundaries).

One sweet quirk I've found on this thing is that on a clean channel you get this cool radio tone out of it. Though, it wont be very defined and will definitely scream out on chords in that scenario. But even thats easy to work around.

Killer pickup

I started looking for a new guitar but I had a problem because I really liked the power of a humbucker (for distortion) but was never a fan of the actually sound while it was distorted. This pickup was the answer to my prayers, it has power to boot and with the right amp this pickup soars. Although not much of a clean pickup you can get some decent punchy blues, which is nice.
