I was looking for a good blues pickup to compete with my JV (Japanese Vintage) Pro Tone Series Strat.(Needs a new neck and I don't have the money to replace it right now.) Best Strat by far I have ever heard. I was not confident I would find anything that would come close. The closest I have come is this pickup. It is perfect for Blues, It is warm for single coil and articulate. It has character to it's tone. It has depth without being muddy and handles those funky Strat single coil rhythm's with clarity but not with those thin irritating highs. I just wanted some depth and character and I have it. Great that it's available. Thank you Seymour Duncan for a staggered pickup that really sounds great. I play a Fender Princeton Reverb Tube Amp (fantastic) and this pickup is in the neck of my MIM strat. I have two Pro Tone Dimarzio's (middle and bridge) that give me all the flexibility I need for the range of styles I play.

As a lefty I love the fact they make a version for us. Its a great pickup but beware. If you're looking to improve the sound of a strat DO NOT use this pup in the neck. Its designed to go in bridge position. It has a very good punch and output, but its a dark and warm sounding pickup.

I have one of these in my standard strat. It's in the bridge; man this thing is hot! I mean scorching hot! The highs are just incredible! I haven't tried it in middle or neck but I like it just where it is. It is louder than my Cool Rails in the middle and my HS-3 at the neck together! Watch out with this pup!
