This little beast delivers a warm, smooth tone, reminiscent of an old '59 Patent Applied For humbucker mixed together with a healthy dose of beefed up Tele twang. The ST59-1 Little 59 lead pickup has a 4-conductor cable.

Best Tele Bridge Pickup ever!

I just purchased this pickup and installed it in a 2006 Anniversary Tele Diamond Edition. The sound coming out of this tele is so awesome! I still kept my 52ri Tele American Vintage Neck pickup and im so glad i did, cause it works perfect with the lil 59. SOund is buttery, highs are now controlled and leads are just plain awesome!

Note: the installation diagram states that one must reverse the green and black wires if youre installing it on a tele with a fender neck pickup. I did that. But originally I also connected the bare wire with the green and that messed up my whole sound. Remember, the Bare wire must always go to ground. SO I changed it to the black and bare and wow! Simply Amazing.

I have used this pickup for a few years. In Series Mode, this pickup sounds very mid range and looses the twang you get in a tele bridge pickup.Think Gibson. In Parallel mode, this pickup brings the twang back! I love this pickup for that very reason. I can play Led Zepplin or Metallica and with a flick of the mini switch I can go back to playing Merle Haggard or some twangin blues. Very Cool pickup but USE A MINI SWITCH!!!!!!! I Have a video on youtube Demoing this pickup.

The bridge pickup of my Tele was great...

The bridge pickup of my Tele was great for country but too piercing for hard rock so I replaced it with a Seymour Duncan Little ’59 and now I can get the best of both worlds, a classic Les Paul-ish sound without losing that Tele bite. The pickup sounds a lot like Guns n’ Roses and Led Zeppelin (who also used Teles but mainly Les Pauls). It’s like a PAF kind of sound with a little bit of Telecaster bite thrown in. And you can use it as a humbucker but also split the pickup to single coil (it has 4 cables, so it's easy to install any way you want it), it's quite versatile. This is the perfect pickup if you want to ROCK on the Telecaster without losing the bite and the classic look of the guitar. It doesn’t get any better. Highly recommended!!!

Played this on a 1987 American Tele thru a Vox AC15 on full boost, and I LOVEDDD IT!! Great crunch and tons of bite and attack! Smooth and strong when played clean too. And it's not that expensive as SDs go. I can't say enough good things about it, hell it even looks slick. You can't lose!

You know that "bite" that tele's are known for, right? Well this pickup destroyed that, and replaced it with a nasaly "honk". Overall disapointed. I should of known better. I want my tele tone back. This pickup fails.
