I had one of these in my guitar, but I never used it except for clean because on distortion is sounded horrible, muddy, unclear. I ended up switching it to the bridge and I had bought a larger amplifier, and let me tell you, it sounds WAY better, best pickup i've heard so far. Very bright and clear, lots of bottom end. I use this for distortion and clean, it's the only pickup in my guitar. It really depends on your amplifier.

I put these pickups in a new faded SG. What a difference, the perfect blues pickups....never heard any better.

One word describes these pickups: AWESOME!! I'm so happy with the tone these pickups give me. It's perfect for blues and classic rock, my two main styles. The bridge pickup gives me a nice crunchy Bluesbreakers-era Claptonesque tone, and the neck pickup gives me a great warm tone. I strongly recommend these pickups to anyone who likes a great vintage tone.

I bought a pair of 59's for my Schecter C1+ last summer. I replaced the ceramic magnet pickups in the guitar alreay with these. The difference was amazing! So much warmth and depth in the neck! Great for blues and jazz! The bridge leaves a little to be desired in terms of hard rock. But, for classic rock and alternative rock the pickups are the best! I recomend them over any other pickups for someone looking to add warmth to their sound.
