I bought this to go in my Taylor 310 just so I would have a spare. I liked it so much I use this one exclusively. I have never had a problem with it, it truely does not hum, even when plugged straight into the sound board and when around alot of neon. If I ever lost this, I would definitely buy the same again, fast. I usually play through a Marshall AS50R, and I get compliments on the sound. It is truely a great little pickup for money.

Quality product, simple to install, great sound with ability to adjust for particular taste. As far as the output, its just fine. My amp does have a volume knob on it. Have a martin with an active fishman aura system and its so darn touchy I can barely turn up the guitar. passive pickups do fine, unless you are playing a crap guitar thru a crap amp. This is the second one I have bought and the first one is over 15 yrs old and still going strong. I did hard wire it into the guitar and will do that to this new one as well.

Great pickup

This pickup has served me well for nearly a year, gigs and so forth and it has never failed. Admittedly there isn't much to screw up with this pickup, but regardless it accomplishes what I need out of it. Does it excellently reproduce my Martin's natural tone? No. Is the output kind of weak? Yeah. But come on, for the price nobody should expect EMG output or something. I use mine through a high wattage fender solid state with some built in effects and it sounds great. I have also used it with a digitech multi effects pedal, compressors, and even overdrives. I appreciate that the low output bothers people but here's an idea... turn your amp up. they have volume knobs for a reason. Or if that isn't complicated enough; than run it through one of the endless kinds of pedals or preamps that can achieve a signal boost. Trust your ear and good tone will come. Personally I like just about everything that pickup can offer me.

Output is lower than my Dean Markely single coil and not as bright. Less noise for the volume than the single coil, but some hum at high volume.

Very weak pickup

I got this for Christmas from my son. I installed it, and this thing has very weak power. I got the hum cancelling unit, and it says it doesn't need a pre-amp, but I think it does to give it a power boost. Bottom line, save your money and buy something more expensive with better quality.
