This is an interesting little box. It does exactly what it says it does. It will 'read' the audio from your instrument and trigger any midi device with the data it gets out of that signal. The quality of how it does that is entirely in the ears of the beholder.
Setup is a snap. Once the connections are made, it instantly starts sending appropriate midi messages. I've used it with Dimension Pro, Rapture and a few other soft synths, all with varying degrees of success.
In general, it works well. There are a few ghost tones here and there, but they can be mostly eliminated with clean playing. I've not had the problems others have with poor tracking. I suspect that this is heavily dependent on the quality of the setup. Follow the directions.
I've found that turning on 'boost' and lowering the volume on the guitar definitely helps as does using a neck pickup with the tone down. Proper intonation is also important. Notes out of tune even a little bit can confuse the device.
The downside is definitely latency. I'm disappointed at the amount of time that passes between hitting a note and hearing a sound. I've tried just about everything to lower this to little avail. I assume this is due to the amount of time it takes for the device to determine the pitch of the note and unless the built in electronics can be sped up, you'll just have to live with it.
A trick I've found that really cleans things up is to alter (In your synth) the amount of pitch bend available. If set to zero +- it seems to generate much more pleasant and less warbly sounds.
I do like this thing. It's great fun and I really hope Sonuus continues development. I really don't mind the fact that it's monophonic. It would still allow me to play a sax solo or something like that. Right now the latency keeps it from being as useful as it could be. I can hardly wait for the G2M2!

All in all, we all take chances on nifty ideas. I did with this unit. It failed within the first half hour. Kuput! Nothin'. O.K. So maybe it's me... It's about the size of a pack o' smokes..weight is 'bout the same as a block of styrofoam without a 9vlt battery. There's no alternative to power supply. Perhaps this would've made my day if the battery they'd sent was defective (highly unusual since I checked with an ohm meter prior to use). When it did function I felt it keen, bummed about the monophonic value held from mention in advertising. (It's good for solo note lead guitarists) It was fun to play midi voices on my lead guitar. Solo guitar recording artists are sure to be able to use this as a tool.

What a neat item. Easy to use - just plug and play. Be warned that the G2M does not provide any midi sounds, it's sole purpose is a guitar -to-midi converter. All-in-all, it does a creditable job. Sure it misses a few notes here and there but overall, it's surprisingly accurate. Play a tuba, trombone, sax, or whatever, using your guitar. It's a gas! I got it primarily for notation of some of my solo's but I've been having so much fun playing with all those horns and strings and pianos and organs that I have not even gotten round to the notation part. The one drawback is that it is that it can only process monophonic signals, so chords are out. But it's still loads of fun and it opens a whole new world of tones for the guitar. No more need to spend thousands of dollars to enter the midi world. Thank you Sonuus!
It's OK

Important thing to note about this device is that it's monophonic which pretty much puts it into the toy/novelty department since there's not much serious use you could put it to. I used mine once and quickly became bored with it. The tuner works great though.
If you have serious guitar synth/midi needs then skip this and spend the extra $$ on the Roland GR20.
not bad for the money

I bought this unit and tried it out with a number of different midi inputs- including my gem keyboard, the computer soundcard, and an Axon MKII guitar midi controller.
I was pretty satisfied with the results I got from using it with my existing computer software, although it seems to work better with some sounds than it does others, particularly 'solo' type patches- it did not interface well at ALL with the Axon general midi input and was all over the place with the notes, but then I think the Axon was defective, so it's going back.
For the money, this unit is pretty well worth it, so I will be keeping it, and using it mainly with my Propellerhead Reason software.
