Standtastic really is fantastic

I own a 48" Standtastic stand. I play at church every week and my setup does not vary really from week to week. I was looking for something that offered increased stability over the typical 2-tier X type stands without spending a great deal more money. I was fortunate enough to run across one of these at a local music store and was impressed at the stability of both tiers.
This thing is built like a tank, folds down to a small size (comes with carrying case), and all the parts stay attached to the unit when it is folded up. The design of using metal pins to hold each level at a particular angle is a great improvement over others.
The only drawback I see to this stand is that in order to adjust the height of each level, you have to remove parts of the stand and loosen a brace with a hex wrench. That being said, my other X brace stand will not allow you to adjust the height of the second tier at all.
I have used / owned X brace, single column (ultimate support), and this stand, and think for stability and build quality this design wins hands down. You should try it !

Pretty Good; Has Minor Quirks

I've owned X-stands and A-frame multi-tiered stands, and this stand is the best of both worlds - relatively speedy setup, sturdiness, and small footprint. I wish could say that it's lightweight, but a little extra weight compared to an aluminum stand is acceptable trade for sturdiess. The first time you use it you will need to budget an hour to test different keyboard heights, angles, etc. but after that you're good to go. The only quirk is that wingnuts and pins have a tendency to get loose during shipping, so you need to be a somewhat observant. I like that it is essentially one piece and folds very compact.

Sturdy, but too much hardware.

This is a sturdy keyboard stand with a nice, heavy gloss black finish and good carrying bag. I returned it because there were too many steps and too many parts involved in setting it up. The support bars that swing down to attach the back legs to the front legs are potential finger-pinchers, and attach with sharp-edged wing nuts. The nylon keeper-straps for the pins that hold the folding arms in position get in the way when installing the pins. If you purchase this for home use, you will probably be happy with it, but if you're gigging, I wouldn't recommend it.

Not for use against a wall

It was a little hard to tell from the picture. But if you plan to put this stand up against a wall. A keyboard at sitting height will be 20" from the wall, that's the back of the keyboard. If your keyboard is 16" deep, the front of your keyboard is 36" from the wall. In a small room that puts you almost in the middle of the room. I'm trying to devise some wall brackets so I can eliminate the back legs.

Everything they say is a plus... IS a plus! Fully adjustable, Quick and accurate setup, no bounce or sway, space for your pedals, compact fold-up... what else are you looking for?
Where was this thing when I bought all those other lame stands over the years?
To address the concerns of a few of the reviewers... As for loosening wing nuts, buy some LocTite... the kind that will loosen by hand. Use it sparingly, but that will keep things from shaking loose.
As for the metal contact... I put some neoprene shelf-liner on the bottom of my keyboards, at the contact points. No scratching AND absolutely no slipping or sliding... the keyboards are rock solid on the stand!
This stand took the place of two, to handle my M-Audio Piano and my Nord Electro 73. I'm also adding the mic stand adaptor and now I've eliminated bringing yet another stand to my gigs! Whoooo-hoooo!
