Great Desk for the Price

Greetings fellow musicians,

I'd like to say off the bat that this desk is pretty cool. It may appear a lil cheap but it does the job. Its not made of real wood so if your into that then stay away. But for a young musician that really doesnt have alotta cash to spare then this is your best bet.

I enjoy the racks. It fits perfect with my presonus firestudio ( i know crap...but good for hobbies)

I have a 32in LCD HDTV along with some crap monitors that are avg size so you can fit alot on the top shelf. I must say that recording just feels more immediate and you get a better sense of sound. may not be the best but definitely an improvement from other things. lol feels pro

Bottom line, if your looking for something quick cheap and convenient then look no further than this.

Casters fail, but otherwise good design

Decent design, I have half of it setup with rack gear, the other half for a small PC. Overall it is a great desk on the cheap, except for the casters...I have BX8a's on top and while they look large, it's not too crazy. Couple of battery packs on bottom with a printer and sub for PC audio (use monitors only for recording) - 19" LCD monitor on top - could probably fit a 24" widescreen, but why upgrade when this does the job, one note, screen needs to be able to tilt down (modded this one w/ dremel on the support). Desk could use 1-2 inches more height. It's one heavy SOB, and it will sink into carpet... speaking on heavy, after a couple months of owning it, one of the casters in back failed, and it sent my screen to the floor and my monitors slide almost off the back. IMO, don't bother with putting the casters on, get a couple of 4x4's (or 4x6's) and make sled rails for this thing.

After FEDEX freight finally got my desk here (they missed the truck 2 days in a row :( .. I was able to put this together in about 40 minutes. VERY easy to assemble, in fact, probably the easiest assembly job for a desk I have ever experienced. It is a very solid piece and looks great in my new home studio. The racks rails all line up and did I mention that it really looks good in my new home studio!!! Lots of room to put monitors, keyboard, an MTR, and did I mention it really looks good in my new home studio!! If you are looking for something that is reasonably priced, don't hesitate, it is a cool piece that will serve you very well for all your music creations!!

I like this desk alot, perfect for my 2 PCs w flat panel monitor, JBL 8" monitor speakers, 4-5 pieces of rack gear and more. Only thing is, replace the casters before you even build it! Or you can do what I did, get it loaded up with all your gear and then try to move it, at which point the cheap rubber caster wheels will crumble and you'll have to take everything off of it to replace them with something sturdy. Other than that, good purchase...
