If it can last over a decade...

I bought my Lever Glide hi hat with my first drumset back in 1998. Today I am still rocking that hi hat stand. Now truth be told there's some dings in the tubing and some rust on the screws, but the action on the pedal is the same as when I bought it. While I'm not a fan of the IC pedals (Demon Drive all the way, man) if my Lever Glide disintegrated tomorrow, I would rebuy this in a heartbeat, no sense paying extra for Pearl or DW when this is all you'll ever need. If only there was a cable hat version....

The operation is very smooth but like the description says this is a lever operated stand which mean you press the pedal it pulls on a strap that is connected to a lever so it feels like you are communicating which the lever rather than with the rod. The lever is connected to the rod which a chain. Unless you see the chain it doesn't feel like it is even there. All I feel is the lever. I am not sure whether the lever action is the best configuration for me, but I plan to keep it for a while at least. The stand has a fairly wide range of adjustment. The one thing I really hate about this stand is the rod. It is extremely long and unattractive. If I knew it was this long I may have opted for a DW that comes with two different rods. The other thing I don't like is the threads of the clutch rub against top cymbal hole so there is metal to metal contact. This probably exists on most hi-hats but it shouldn't exist in this day and age especially with cymbals being so expensive. The clutch does hold on to the rod very securely.

My name is Randall Harless and I've been playing drums for about 38 years. My son has picked up the habit and has been playing for 3 years. We love the durability the Iron Cobra has. The only negative thing I can say is if you set up on carpet (thick) the Iron Cobra stand can be unstable otherwise its a great buy. Great job on construction and design guys!

I had originally bought this 6 years ago along with the power glide double pedals and it still amazes me how versatile these iron cobra products are. I'm still discovering new angles and positions to set the hi-hat stand and hi-hats. Its great how the pedal can sit right next to the double pedals. Love it

This Hi Hat stand is awesome! It can go everyway but up side down! I also love the tilt feature. It is very easy to ajust on the go. Not many nuts and bolts to worry about. It is sturdy and easy to fit between a third bass drum! :D Another thing is that it is one if not the cheapest high grade stand. GET IT!
