I have played drums for many years and been in a few bands so I know how important a durable and dependable hi hat stand is! If it even has a chance at giving out at a gig, forget it! This stand has nice features and fits well enough. But what's up with the post coming unscrewed??? I have to keep tightening it after every song! I've got a Percussion Plus stand that doesn't even do that. It's nice but NOT gig worthy. I'll try super glueing the threads hoping that'll stick enough to not come undone. Other than that, Tama can keep it.

I just purchased a second Velo Glide. My first one has over 300 gigs on it and still works perfectly. I have 3 kits set up in different locations and I purchased this second one because the Gibralter High Hat stand that I am currently using jumps around when pumping the pedal. Buy the Velo Glide with Confidence.

I bought this because of the good...

I bought this because of the good reviews, nostalgia for the brand, and something that was going to last and treat me to some function. Having played a number of high, and of course low-end "i just need a HH stand" stands, this blew me away with it's response and ease of operation. Any adjustment you can think of aside from upside down is accomodated - from a heavy step to the flick of your finger (you know, if you play it like that)the response is incredible. The stand is extremely versitle and solid piece of equipment, and two instead of three legs makes a welcome difference. Highly recommended!

Just what you'd expect from Tama, a quality piece of equipment. Easy, simple and a smooth action, round out this hi-hat stand, even though it is the less expensive of the IRON COBRA series. I looked at both, and went with the HH805 because of it's simplicity, durability and asthetics. It's pretty stable for a 2 legged HH stand. The little adjustable foot under the footboard is a plus. I made a great choice. Really can't go wrong with either one. I have it paired up with the IRON COBRA HP900RTW double pedal. I would buy this stand again.
