Thomastik-Infeld Superalloy bass strings deliver modern tone, with balanced spread across the frequency spectrum. They communicate in a full, well rounded bass, throaty mids, and solid treble without brittleness. Since the outer layer of windings is Superalloy, the warm tone is retained. Plus, they are easier on your fretwork than stainless or all-steel strings.

34" scale. Gauges: .045 - .065 - .08 - .105.

TI finally finds mediocrity!

I've used Thomastik-Infeld JF344 and EB344 strings for years. I loaded the Infeld IN344's on a P-bass looking for a different sound to find they have no special character. The other TI sets do. NOTE: I've never broken an EB344 or JF344 string but the IN344 D string broke DURING SETUP! Good thing I bought 2 sets. There is a reason Dr. Thomastik's name isn't on the IN344's. Maybe it is the vanilla sound? My advice is skip the IN344 set and go to Thomastik EB344 set because it is worth the few extra bucks. I know I won't buy IN344's again so long as EB344's are out there. Lesson learned.

Thomastik-Infeld makes some really great bass strings. This INFELD IN344 set isn't one of them. I can highly recommend both the POWERBASS EB344 and JAZZ FLATS JF344 sets as nothing else I've tried comes close to these truly unique sets. I've been using them for about 4 years. I decided to try these IN344's on a new Fender Precision. The feel, the sound & the playability are frankly all second rate. I won't buy more IN344's. You can get a very similar sounding and feeling string for a lot less money with the Ernie Ball or Dunlop nickle. If you want a truly great low tension roundwound I would most strongly urge you to try the Thomastik-Infeld EB344's instead of these IN344's. The EB344 PowerBass is a way better string in every regard and worth every penny. I'm sold on TI strings, but the IN344's frankly are TI's most successful attempt ever to be mediocre.

I have the TI EB344 Power Bass strings on a 53' P-bass reissue with a single coil pickup and got the best set up and sound ever on any bass. This 53 P-Bass is my number 1 player. I got a 2006 Mexican Fender P-bass and thought I'd try these IN344's on it. The tension on these IN344's is just a tad higher than the EB344's. They have a completely different feel that is not as smooth or flexible as EB344's. After playing the IN344's I have that yesteryear metalic tinge to my fingertips. The IN344's sound fuller on the bottom end than EB344's, but the output isn't as hot. I can't fly up and down the neck like with the EB344's. Still a good buy with lessened fretwear concerns due the nickel layer. Unlike some other nickel strings I've used the IN344's have boatloads of sustain. Reminds me of the Ernie Ball roundwound sound a bit only with a better bottom. They have an old school bottom, a modern top and sustain like there's no tomorrow. Would be great for hard rock or Hip-Hop on an active bass. Very lively and sensitive strings with a smooth low end. Not my favorite TI strings, but would be a very good hard rock or hot country string. The EB344's a better all around set.
