this thing is weird at first but it makes my string least at least twice their life time, wash the string cleaner is better than spending more money in strings..

and so far does not leave any mark or dent on my guitars, and use it several times a day so i clean the strings several times a day.. electric or acoustic, it works with both..

I bought this product about three months ago because I was tired of replacing strings every couple of weeks. My fingers sweat alot when I play & I play on average 3-4 a day. I also use expensive strings. To begin with The String Cleaner worked great,but I found I had to wash it every week, no big deal.Here is the main problem I had with this product I looked closly at the fingerboard on my guitar & I noticed it was starting to wear slight grooves in the wood. I don't know if this is has been a problem for anyone else, but I stopped using it. If the frets on your guitar are slightly worn or if you have very low action this might become a problem. I can't recommend this product as I'm not convinced it's totally safe to use.

The "ToneGear The String Cleaner Cleaning Tool" does work. Worth about half of the price. It is two pieces of plastic with a micro fiber glued to it.

Friend of mine turned me on to this thing, and I was skeptical at first, but it's awesome. Actually, I can't believe how well it works. Finally, something that cleans underneath the strings. Ridiculous that no one thought of this sooner.
