I tried these sticks because of the extra length. The weight is perfect. But the best feature is a nylon tip that absolutely will not break. I always preferred nylon tips, but lost those tips with other brands.

I went out on a limb when I bought these sticks. I used to play with 5a's, but I needed something more. This was what I'd been looking for in a pair of sticks. they're the perfect weight, they actually seem sort of light compared to vic firth 5a's. The extra 1/2" makes a world of difference when reaching for cymbals. I haven't had these sticks for long, so I don't know how durable they are, but they seem to be holding up great so far.

I wanted a lighter feeling stick with durability. I first purchased a pair of Vater 5A LA (model?) sticks. I liked them very much, great quality, great feel and sound. The only problem, I prefer a 16 1/2" stick as opposed to the 16" which they were. The Power 5A seemed perfect for me. I do love these sticks, they have the same quality, feel, etc... as my other Vater pair. They are a little heavier (understandable because there is more to them) and the tip is a little larger. I do prefer the tip of the Vater 5A LA a little more, it has more *ping* to it, but this is a small detail that I can get over. Overall - I was suggested Vater which I had never tried - I love them and they are totally worth trying out. The only downside which is true for ALL sticks... the price. I can't believe it costs $8 for a pair of nylon tipped sticks now, but it's true for all brands so we can't blame Vater.

I bought a set of the 5B (wood) a year ago and they're still holding up. I usually play with 5A and I use these to practice.

These sticks are awesome. They haven't broke on me yet. Thank God. They're mainly for heavy metal/heavy rock. But I used them for that and just regular rock. If you want quality...buy Vater sticks!
