After using Vic Firth my entire drumming career, I have to say they let me down this time. I bought the 5A six pair, and broke the first pair on the first song I played. I thought this might be just one bad pair, but I broke the rest in about a week. Before I bought these sticks, a single pair of Vic Firth 5A's had been holding me up for about two months without breaking. I found myself asking: What happened to Vic Firth?

I got two pairs of 5B American Hickory sticks for Christmas last year, and they still haven't cracked. They're barely even showing wear and tear, compared to my Pro-Mark 5B Hickory pair, which is still together, but totally shredded. These are a great value.

I have a pair of 7a's .... these sticks ROCK! I really should have gone with the 5a's because my hands are a little big... but they have a great attack on the drum heads and a nice crisp crash... I will admit that I've used better... but I don't own anything better... definitely a great "classic" stick
