Excellent sticks

The Dave Weckl Signature sticks are as good a pair of sticks as the man they're named for is a drummer. I first picked these up a little over a year ago, after playing VF 5a's and Gadd signatures. These sticks are light, quick, and powerful, giving punch and speed on toms but still retaining a tremendous control and feel for cymbals and snarework. I have also yet to break a single one of these sticks, being a full time student majoring in music with a focus on jazz and a love of funk and rock. My only complaint is that the polish on the sticks makes them more prone to slipping out of sweaty hands, so if you sweat easily (I tend not to) maybe choose a non-coated stick instead.

Great sticks

These sticks are great for the drumset. They will not break unless you abuse them. I would recommend buying the nylon because the wood tips do seem to chip very quickly. But overall it is great. Has the feel of a 5B but without the weight, and the tip is excellent. Very good stick.

Great, but Not

I'll start off by saying that I absolutely love playing with these sticks. They have a great feel, and help create the best sounds i've heard out of my cymbals yet.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to last long. The older style.. i would get this very strange break pattern, as if the tip was yanked straight outwards... I did this to 2 sticks, one from each pair, within a week, each. Then i had a pair left over, and eventually they broke normally.

I got this pair today, I guess the newer design? Either way, I was running late to band practice, and grabbed these, i love how they play. Well, about halfway through the first song, one of them split, while playing a swing ostinato on the ride cymbal. Nothing hard, just split right down the middle. The other one lasted the rest of the night..

These are great sticks to play with... but they break very easily.

After playing 4 hours with these sticks, and switching them from hand to hand to help with consistent wear, one already has some major duck-tails going on in the center. It will probably break in half on my next 2 hour set like every other hickory drum stick ever made. They look cool, people talk well about them, but when it comes to crunch time you're better off buying some cheaper 5a's or something. In my personal opinion, not worth the 8 bucks.
