I'm a new drummer, but I got one of these before I even had a kit. I've used a few other brands of pads at lessons and I have to say I like the Vic pads the best. I got this particular pad and I'm glad I did. 12 inches is a perfect size, and the 2 sides are perfect! grey side for lower volume/ building muscles and the black side for hearing each hit and speed. doesn't get much better.

I normally throw this pad into a snare stand but it is heavy enough that you could place it right onto a table and practice away without it moving.

I bought this when I first started playing drums. I have gotten a lot of use out of it. It works well for me. I put a Remo Falam slam patch on the black side. That helps me focus a tighter radius. I traced a half dollar on the grey side.

I use this pad to practice my rudiments during percussion class at school. We have a few lying around. I love this thing. I am about to purchase my own.

Get the 12 inch, the 6 inch is WAY too small and it's not even worth the money. A 14 inch would be nice, but 12 inches is plenty.

This pad is grate! I've had the 12 inch about a year and a half and I love it. I take it every wear, and the rebound is sweet! Must have for any true drumer!
