Plastic Part Broke

installation was pretty good. it didn't need any modifications like drilling or cutting. the instructions where a little confusing but got the idea across. actual usage was bad! this part fits inside one of the tremolo springs and was sticking so it wouldn't bring it back in tune to be "stabilized". after tinkering around with it for awhile i put some light oil on it and it started working ok. but then the next day i put maybe 2 notes of positive pressure on it and about a third of the black plastic part that contacts the tremolo broke off!

Does as advertised

I had problems with wear on my tremolo causing it to go out of tune. This has provided a positive stopping point that helps keep it in tune. Wasn't the easiest to install (has some trouble with replacing the springs) but does the job.

Requires Intelligence!!

This is an awesome tool, but you gotta be careful--I ended snapping my tremolo bar in half because I was throwing it down too hard and the stabilizer took away a lot of play underneath. Chances are good that you might need to add another spring to your tremolo to ensure that doesn't happen.

The stabilizer braces your tremolo against the spring board (the metal board that screws into your guitar and the springs attach to), and when the tremolo's at neutral there is pressure on the stabilizer so that when you dive bomb and come back up, the stabilizer stops it at neutral before the springs...that way it brings it right back into perfect pitch. It is really nice.

It's a little harder to go positive on the tremolo, but not too hard (if it is too hard, something's wrong and you'll end up with a broken trem bar like me.)

And it comes in a kickass box.

Overall, a great product. Every whammy whore needs one.

i bought this a few weeks ago and put in on my floyd rose and i could tell that there was more sustain but if you are into free feel dont buy this. you can push down on the tremolo like normal but pulling back is completly different. Its way to stiff because you have a piece of plastic in your spring pushing against the wall of your tremolo. overall this product wasnt for me i enjoy a more dimebag darrell style of playing.

This stabilizer helps out significantly with tremolo woes. I've installed it on a Peavey V-Type, which has a Floyd Rose locking tremolo. Installation is very easy, as well as initial setup. The only thing I don't care for is the construction of it, seems a little flimsy since it's mostly plastic, aside from the threaded rod that runs through the mid-section of it. Otherwise, it's a good product.
