i recently bought this from mf. and i am here to say this is by far one the best pedals out there. i started out many years ago playing a old ludwig speedking, as well as the ghost pedal. i have been looking for a while for a pedal that is as smooth and precise as this. direct drive is the way to go, a lot of people say you can not get as much power out of them as you would a chain, i say nonsense. i have played the iron cobra as well as a couple of others and there is no compersion to this pedal. do yourself a favor and check this one out..

I could only hope and dream of a pedal like this years ago. Hey wats up. I've been playing drums since I was 7 and I'm 15 teen now. I have used or played with just about any double kick you can imagine and this one is my number one. It has the smoothest feel when going to the drum, and the recoil is amazing cause it's not to quick, not to slow. It's just right. If your a hard rocker like me, or a jazz drummer, or a death metal double kicker... THIS PEDAL WILL KICK YOUR FACE IN!!!!!!

I have been a drummer for a long time and I needed something that could take me farther than my other double pedal. I was nervous when buying this pedal because I have always used a chain drive and I was nervous about the direct drive. But I couldn't be more pleased. This pedal is responsive and easy and fast. This pedal is so easy that I can literally play it with my pinky fingers! It is also very strong and very easy to adjust, By far the best pedal Ive ever played.

I was going to order the 9410 a few months ago and when I came back to the site, it was gone! The next day I came back again, and this pedal had just been released that day. I'm proud to be one of the first owners (in the US...it had been out overseas for a while) and I love the pedal. The difference from chain to direct-drive takes a bit of getting used to but this thing is smooth as butter and incredibly responsive, though perhaps a bit noisy for lacking a chain. Something...somewhere that I can't pinpoint...clinks and clanks a bit sometimes, though I'm thinking it's related to the joint connecting the pedals. Some chain-users may think it's too responsive and will get a lot of accidental double hits, but that's just a matter of learning the pedal and adjusting it to your playing. I gave it a 4.5 for features because the spikes are awfully short and the slave pedal moved all over on my long carpet. A buddy gave me an attachment that simulates a hoop and has 2 giant spikes (2-3" long, probably 3/8" diameter or so) and I haven't had any more problems. Also, I'm thinking of trying out the Trick beaters for less weight and a snappier feel from a hard impact pad instead of felt on my KD-8 (Roland kick trigger). The quality of the beaters themselves is fine, I just wish the pedal came with more options (I guess this goes for all pedals since most don't let you choose beaters when you purchase the pedal...guess they'll milk it for what it's worth). This thing is made in the motorcycle shop with top-grade materials and you'd have to try pretty hard to break it (no chain to break is another bonus of direct-drive). I rated it at a 4 for value only because I can only compare it to the Iron Cobra and not a wider range of lower or similarly priced pedals to truly rate the value for the price. I do like the slimmer pedal base since I play a lot with my heel on my hihat pedal and they can be right next to each other, but the changes made hardly justified the increase in price. That said, for the price of a SINGLE Trick pedal, this thing is great. I would have likely spent the cash on an Axis, though without playing one I can't say whether or not I made the right decision. Oh well, this pedal hits the kick drum...really fast and smooth...good enough for me.
