Having tried gibraltar keys, DW keys, Pearl keys, ratchet keys, screwdriver keys, torque keys (even torque doesn't mean equal pitch), and almost every other key I can easily say this is the BEST drum key you can get. Yamaha's unique design ensures maximum control with minumum effort and superior feel all within a lightweight, durable product. When being used, the three layers of metal gently glide against you're fingers giving you a referenece point to how far you've turned the key. Most other keys require you to use you're wrists while fingers stay intact (the nimble touch of fingers is 100x more accurate than wrist turns. Look up gibraltar's classic keys for a similar design as this but they are very painful to use at high torques, no pain with Yamaha's). Once you get used to this key you can tap a drum, choose a note higher or lower than where its at and tune it there just by feel. Freaking awesome in live situations! All keys are not the same, get this one now.
